Presence
I've found a quiet intelligence in presence.
The kind that is lived moment to moment.
In breath.
In attention.
In the simple act of noticing what is actually here instead of what is projected, feared, or remembered.
I’ve come to see that my life moves differently when I am present.
My thoughts still arise.
My emotions still move through.
But they no longer run the entire system.
Presence creates space between what I feel and what I do.
I get to respond instead of react.
I get to see instead of assume.
When I am not present, I become scattered. I lose contact with what is real.
With my body.
With the people in front of me.
With the work that actually needs my attention.
But when I return, even slightly, everything simplifies.
Presence brings me back to what matters.
My son.
My relationships.
My breath.
The ground beneath my feet.
It reminds me that life is not happening in some distant achievement or imagined resolution.
It is happening here.
In real time.
In the ordinary details I often overlook.
I am learning that presence is not a state I achieve once and keep.
It is a practice I return to.
Again and again.
Sometimes gently and sometimes after I’ve drifted far.
In returning, I notice something consistent.
I am more aligned.
More honest.
And more capable of love and clarity.
So I will keep coming back.
To the breath.
To the body.
To what is real.
To this moment — as it is, not as I wish it to be.
Because this is where my life actually is.
